New online encyclopedias added to Credo Reference database


The Library has just added 133 new online encyclopedias to our database Credo Reference. Credo allows all 410 encyclopedias and other reference works in its collection to be searched for topics from one central interface. Credo's reference books cover a range of subjects such as Art, Business, Food & Beverage, General Reference, Geography, History, Language, Law, Literature, Medicine, Music, Philosophy, Psychology, Religion, Science, Social Science, and Technology. Check out the full list of books covered in Credo and remember to ask for assistance from any of the Librarians.

Another new database added


The Library has added a new database to our online resource collection. Oxford Reference Online is comprised of 186 different electronic reference books covering a variety of subject areas. The search interface on Oxford's main page can be used to search all 186 titles at once.

Library policies have been updated

The Proctor Library has updated, expanded, and added to our policies and rules of operation. Please take a look at our comprehensive policy page to see what's new. Our new policy regarding food & drink in the building is perhaps our biggest change in operation.

Two new databases added to electronic resource collection

The Library added two new databases to our electronic resource collection, ArchiveGrid & CAMIO, both of which can be accessed from our main database page.

“ArchiveGrid offers online access to nearly a million descriptions of archival collections owned by thousands of libraries, museums, historical societies and archives worldwide. ArchiveGrid is an important destination for searching for historical documents, personal papers and family histories held in archives.”

“CAMIO is a premier resource of high-quality art images from around the world contributed and described by leading museums, all rights-cleared for educational use. Every work in CAMIO is represented by at least one high-resolution image and a description.”

New books added in July


A list of the most recent additions of new books has been added to the Library website. Please see our new books page to browse the list. The Library's most recent new book arrivals can always be found on the New Arrivals shelves located immediately to the right after passing through the entrance gates.

If you are looking for a specific book title, please use the Voyager online catalog to search the collection. Our book search tutorial explains the step by step process for using Voyager. And remember to seek assistance from a librarian if you encounter any problems.

New videos added during July


A list of the most recent new videos has been added to the Library website. Please see our new videos page to browse the list. The Library's video collection is located in the Audio-Visual (AV) area in the southeast corner of the first floor of the Library. All videos may be checked out and taken home, but 6 televisions connected to DVD/VHS players are also provided in the AV area for user convenience. Headphones are available for checkout at the Circulation desk.
